NomadPlus: A Smarter Battery Backup Solution

IMG_0366

Every iPhone comes with a small square 5W USB Power Adapter. It’s small enough to fit in a pocket or bag without adding too much bulk or weight making it easy and convenient to carry around. But as with any battery powered device there comes a time when you will need a little extra power to get through the next hour or two and there’s no power outlet or a powered USB port available.

Although there are plenty of good battery backup solutions to choose from they are all ultimately an additional item to carry around, or you have to choose one or the other. This is the problem many of us face and Nomad hopes to solve with the NomadPlus. At 2.1″ x 2.1″ x 1.2″ (5.3 x 5.3 x 3.1cm) it’s a bit larger than Apple’s iPad 12W USB Power Adapter it’s still relatively small and definitely light enough to be portable.

It’s smarts begin with its outer design by having to combine with your existing iPhone Power Adapter, essentially turning two items into one. So not only does it’s portability remain intact you also no longer have to chose between charging solutions. Then there’s the 1800mAh battery inside that will recharge up to 50% of an iPhone 6 Plus battery. When done, the NomadPlus begins to recharge its own internal battery as long as it’s plugged into a power outlet. Whether it’s charging your phone, being recharged or simply sitting in your gear bag, you can always check its power status by pressing the button at the center of the logo.

The Nomad Plus is smartly designed inside and out. From making use of your current iPhone power adapter for easy portability to smart charging the phone then the backup battery itself with no user intervention required. It’s well thought out design makes it an excellent battery backup solution for any mobile warrior to have at their arsenal. You can check one out for yourself at Nomad to see what they’re all about.
