I don’t do news because I just don’t have that kind of time to troll through all the information and news gets old quick. But when I feel a bit of news is important to many and I know about it you will see it here such as this bit I’m posting now.
I’m sure many are already aware of HP and Dell laptops failing over the past 8 months if not longer due to faulty nVidia chips. While nVidia seems to be denying that some of their chips have an issue with heat HP has finally posted a list of affected laptops. If you own one of these follow HP’s instructions to remedy the situation.
Laptops in question are: HP Pavilion dv2000, dv6000, and dv9000 series and the Compaq Presario v3000 and v6000 series. Symptoms include no video on the laptops’ LCD, no power, no active LEDs and latops that don’t startup.

Limited Warrant Service Enhancement
Update: Just got off the phone with an HP rep. I was told that the affected models are the AMD based processors only. So if you own an Intel based Pavilion with the same model number you are still out of luck. Also, your laptop must still be under warranty. This just sucks. Also this apparently is old news but some how seems still relavent and these failures seem to be poping up more as of recent.
